How to calculate team capacity
- 1Net the working days. Subtract public holidays from the working days in the period, per person.
- 2Scale to the team. Multiply by the number of people to get gross team working days.
- 3Remove planned leave. Subtract the total leave days booked across the team.
- 4Convert to hours. Multiply the net team days by hours per working day for available capacity.

How do you calculate team capacity?
Capacity = team size × (working days − public holidays) × hours per day, minus the leave hours booked across the team. It tells you the realistic deliverable hours for the period.
Why subtract leave and holidays?
Because raw headcount overstates what a team can deliver. Real capacity is only the working time left after holidays and approved leave — which is why Timvora reconciles all three automatically.
What hours per day should I use?
